My first poll is over and here are the results -
In response to my poll question, "do you have a derogatory term or nickname that you call the ex in private conversation", the results were:
100% YES
I knew I wasn't the only one! Now, who wants to share their term/nickname? Anybody?

We like to use humor to remind ourselves that our lives are about US, not about the drama queen and her childish nonsense, so when we have finished any business talk and it's time to get back to us only, we make flushing noises like we are taking all that crap and flushing it down the toilet, where it belongs. It makes us laugh and we can get back to what is important: the kids, and our lives.
LOL, that is great!!! Great symbolism for flushing it as a means to set it aside and continue with day to day life.
I had to figure out how to do that the first couple years. I was so angry all the time. It was just so nasty having to deal with all the BS with the ex, all her interference, lies, and general bullshit. Every time I would see her, all that anger would rush back. Unfortunately, we lived close to each other at the time so we were always seeing her around town and she and I drove home from work at the same time (lucky me). To counteract the anger, I had to come up with something silly that would divert the anger into something more manageable so I figured I'd try flipping her off behind the dash (something "I" would know about but she wouldn't). The first time I did that, I cracked myself up. It was so silly so seeing her became a fit of giggles instead of anger. I only had to flip her off once or twice and then after that, I just laughed whenever I saw her because in my mind, I saw myself being silly with the bird flipping.
Oh, of course we have a name for the Ex! Being folks who adore boating, she has been christened the "Bilge Whore".
As far as we know, the children have no knowledge of her new name --SS14,SD17,SS19
Lunatic, Evil One, both work. LOL!
