Financial Situation Going Down the Toilet

>> Thursday, February 4, 2010

With spring six weeks away, I automatically started planning spring improvements (bringing stone in for the garden, a new front door) before I remembered we can't afford even new light fixtures, let alone the front exterior door.  The child support is always paid on time but we are about to lose our house.  As long as the ex has money to blow on shopping and eating out while we lose our house for our own four kids, that's all that matters.

Yes, I am in an irritated mood right now.  The financial situation is getting worse.  Hubby's employer keeps getting our hopes up that work is coming and then they back out of it the day before it is supposed to happen.  We could file bankruptcy to get rid of all the extra debt and reconfirm the house and cars but the attorney wants $1,000 to file.  If we had an extra $1,000, we wouldn't be in such immediate danger of losing the house.  Hello!

Economic Troubles Hit Us Too

>> Monday, January 18, 2010

Everybody has been struggling in this economy and we managed to hold our head above water for the better part of last year but towards the end, it all fell apart.  How are people getting approved to refinance the mortgages they struggle with in this economy?  We tried with our mortgage company and they wanted thousands of dollars to do it.  If we could afford that, we wouldn't need to refinance!  Bank of America kind of stinks in my opinion.  I wish they'd not taken over our old mortgage company's loans.  That was a bummer.  They want it all caught up by Feb. 6 or they intend to accelerate the loan and call the whole mortgage balance due.  Yeah, good luck with that.

Stress is getting to me.  I've had hives for a couple weeks.  I thought it was an allergy but I'm beginning to wonder if it is stress.  I'm SO itchy!  They are even on my face.  In addition to the best under eye creams to cover the circles under my eyes, I'm lathering on benadryl cream to minimize the hives.

I see my doctor Thursday.  He'll probably want to give me a Steriod shot.  I'd rather take them orally than with a needle.  I can't stand needles.

When It Rains...I Want A Vacation!

>> Wednesday, October 15, 2008

It seems like everybody is struggling financially. It's a struggle to make a house payment, car payment, gas bill...necessary things we all need. We have to add on top of that car repairs for us. When it rains, it pours for us. My husband's car has been sitting in the driveway for the past few weeks because we can't afford to get it fixed yet. Hubby has been driving my car to work. So what does my car decide to do today? NOT START! ARGH!!!!! We got it jumped and it started. Then it died. Then it started again. I have my fingers crossed it is just the battery and it's not going to need a starter/alternator thingamabob (yes, that's my technical term for a stupid automotive part that we can't afford to buy right now).

We desperately need a vacation from all the bills. So many families stressing out over everything. Wouldn't it be nice to hop a plane to las vegas nv, stay in a luxurious hotel to be pampered, win a few thousand dollars and go home happy and stress-free?

The good news is gas prices have gone down. The bad news is OPEC is meeting in November and will likely vote to cut back production so they can raise the prices again. So enjoy the break in price for the short-term because it's going to change soon.
